The late Francis Coulson arrived in 1948, and he was joined by the late Brian Stack in 1952. Tthe partnership flourished to make Sharrow Bay what it is today. Directions
From Junction 40 on the M6 motorway follow the A66 towards Keswick until reaching the roundabout signposted the A592 to Ullswater. At the roundabout turn left onto the A592 signposted to Ullswater & follow this road until you reach the lake. Turn left towards Pooley Bridge. Drive through Pooley Bridge village & turn right at the mini roundabout. Right again at the next cross roads & follow the signs to Howtown. The hotel is then 2 miles on your right.
