Chermisa Lisa Daniel, aged 32 from St Lucia, was stopped by UK Border Agency officials after arriving at the London airport.

She was found to have one kilogram of cocaine hidden under her wig.

The initiative, which is being developed by Coca-Cola Enterprises and the Waste and Resources Action Programme, plans to develop 80 Recycle Zone sites across the UK by 2011.

Erika Coghlin, vice president of Coca-Cola Enterprises, said the zones made it easier for people to recycle.

Airport hotel Holiday Inn becomes Olympic partnerPassengers booking airport hotels before they travel, may be interested to know that the Holiday Inn has become a commercial partner of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The chain, which has hotels at a number of UK airports including Heathrow, Manchester, Bristol, Norwich and Glasgow, became the Official Hotel Services Provider to London 2012 today.

It will provide accommodation and meeting rooms for the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) and supply personnel to help plan the Athletes' Village.

Second runway plans at Birmingham International Airport 'criticised'Birmingham International Airport's plans for expansion have been criticised by environmental campaigners.

Chris Crean, from the West Midlands Friends of the Earth, told the Birmingham Post: "We would like to see the airport say they would never build a second runway."

He was speaking at a meeting to discuss planning proposals across the region organised by the Examination in Public in the West Midlands Regional Spatial Strategy, which is also considering building 400,000 new homes in the area.

The budget airline has announced a new route from Manchester to Faro, which will start in Easter 2010.

Crawford Rix, managing director of bmibaby, said they were "delighted" to launch the new route.
