Air Mauritius announced that its new business class product will be available on all of its flights from the UK, which operate from Heathrow Airport.

Ryanair celebrates 20 years at LiverpoolLow-fares airline Ryanair has celebrated the 20th anniversary of its launch of services from Liverpool Airport.

The first flight offered by the airline from Liverpool, which launched in May 1988, connected the north-west city to Dublin.

Some 38 routes are now operated by Ryanair from Liverpool and the carrier is expecting to handle two million passengers on its flights from the hub this year.

Aegean celebrates inaugural Stansted servicePassengers for the first flight between Stansted Airport and Athens were greeted with champagne and gifts from Aegean Airlines to celebrate the event.

The route, set to fly twice a day from the airport north of London, "provides passengers with a real alternative for their travel to Greece", according to the carrier.

The numbers of passengers using the airline increased by ten per cent in the last year, carrying over a million people in the first three months of this year.

Blackpool to host new ski servicesLow cost airline Jet2.com has announced that it will offer flights from Blackpool Airport to the ski capital of Geneva in Switzerland next winter.

Communications manager at the airport Susan Kendrick said that there was a large demand for flights to the French and Swiss Alps "from residents across Lancashire and Cumbria", adding that the carrier was confident that the flights would be popular from the offset.

The flights will start weekly, with the first journey beginning on December 13th this year and running throughout the ski season until April.

The Association of British Travel Agents released statistics showing that Edinburgh was the UK's second most popular destination among foreigners in 2007 after London, the Edinburgh Evening News reports.

Hubs such as Gatwick Airport and Heathrow Airport enabled London to take the lion's share of the visitor market, with 13.9 million foreign travellers, while Edinburgh welcomed some 1.13 million visitors.
