United Airlines resumes flights from Heathrow AirportUnited Airlines has announced that it will reinstate its schedule of flights to Denver from Heathrow Airport next year.

The carrier will offer the daily service between March 29th and October 24th, providing "non-stop" passenger service to the US mountain region.

United Airlines will further boost the transatlantic flight network next year when it launches new flights from Washington DC to Geneva in Switzerland.

Airline launches green flightsKiwi flagship carrier Air New Zealand will make history next month when it launches the world's first commercial test flight to run on the newest second generation biofuel technology.

The Boeing 747-400 aircraft will leave Auckland on December 3rd, on a half-and-half combination of standard jet fuel and synthetic paraffinic kerosene made from jatropha oil.

Engine-maker Rolls-Royce needed to clear the new fuel before the flight could leave the ground to ensure the project could go ahead as scheduled.

Ryanair reveals new services from Gatwick AirportServices from London to Spain have received a boost after budget carrier Ryanair announced new flights from Gatwick Airport.

The new schedule, which starts on December 18th, will see planes take off daily from Gatwick Airport to Barcelona Girona in north east Spain.

In addition, twice-daily services will also run to Alicante on the Costa Blanca.

New entertainment on BA flightsThales, a provider of information systems for the aerospace industry, has announced an agreement with British Airways (BA) to provide a new range of inflight entertainment (IFE) options for the airline.

The multi-million pound deal will see a multimedia setup with larger, clearer LCD screens installed on BA's Airbus A380 aircraft and its Boeing 777s and 787 Dreamliners.

Passengers will be offered access to more than 100 movies, 300 programmes and 400 CDs, as well as radio shows and podcasts.

Stansted Airport boosts green credentialsStansted Airport has announced that it is still the largest air travel hub in the UK to hold the 'coveted' ISO14001 certification for environmental management.

Following an audit of its environmental practices by ERM Certification and Verification Services, the airport has been officially endorsed until October 2011.

Stansted first achieved ISO14001 status in 2005 and, according to head of environment Andy Jefferson, the retention of the certificate this year was the result of efforts to improve 'all aspects' of the airport's performance.

Flybe operate local crew from Aberdeen AirportBudget carrier Flybe has announced that it has assembled the first ever flight crew on its service from Aberdeen Airport to Gatwick Airport that hails exclusively from the Scottish city.

The news comes as the result of a recruitment campaign to bring in local talent from the area around the popular regional airport.

Staff aboard the Flight BE7291/2 will consist of local residents; captain Aidan Bell, first officer Alex van der Veer and cabin crew Gary Duncan, Laura Anne Stevenson and Nicola Redgrave.

Transatlantic passengers reminded about regulationsPeople planning a visit to the United States after January 12th next year have been reminded of the need to comply with new customs regulations being enforced by the Department of Homeland Security.

The Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (Esta) is being implemented by the American government to check that passengers travelling under the visa waiver scheme are eligible to visit the country.

British Airways reminded travellers that they must apply for Esta approval at least 72 hours before their flight is due to depart.

Transatlantic flight from London City Airport to get stopoverBritish Airways' (BA) has announced that passengers on forthcoming flights from London City Airport to New York will stopover at Shannon Airport.

Once in Ireland, the passengers will be able to go through customs and immigration checks at Shannon Airport rather than New York's John F Kennedy Airport while the airplane refuels.

Irish transport minister Noel Dempsey revealed that Shannon will become the first European airport to be granted pre-clearance facilities for transatlantic flights to America.

Luton Airport gets dedicated security lanePassengers taking flights from Luton Airport will be able to use a priority lane that will offer quicker access to security checkpoints providing they pay a small fee.

Bosses at the gateway revealed that construction work will begin soon to create the dedicated security lane.

Natalie Raper, marketing director at the Luton Airport, said that the aim of the new development was to reduce waiting times for all passengers, while some travellers were prepared to pay for a quicker route to security search points.

Services scrapped from Heathrow AirportAmerican airline Delta has announced it will stop its service from Heathrow Airport to the city of Seattle.

Delta's route between the US destination and Heathrow Airport is to cease after just six months in operation, with the last flight leaving the UK hub on January 8th.

Since its inception the route was seen as an as attempt to contest for a share of the market with UK flagship carrier British Airways, who enjoyed a significant presence serving the northwest United States from the capital.

The stage adaptation of this famous children's story will come to the Catherine Street venue from November 26th to January 4th.

Written by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, the Gruffalo tells the tale of a wily mouse who scares off the predators of the forest using his imagination but is shocked when he encounters the very monster he dreamed up.
