Stansted Airport expansion inquiry date setStansted Airport officials have revealed the date of a public inquiry into plans to expand the airport's capacity.

BAA, which owns seven UK airports including Heathrow Airport and Gatwick Airport, wants to increase the current cap of passengers from 25 million a year to 35 million.

The inquiry will take place on May 30th at Endeavour House, before moving to Sudbury Town Hall, where it should conclude in October.

John Parkinson, head of aviation security at the Department for Transport's transport security section, suggested that airport protection needed to be updated.

Ryanair launches massive low cost seat sale

Ryanair has revealed its intention to come out on top in the low cost summer flights war, launching ten million seats across Europe for just £10 including taxes.

The low budget airline also revealed that if passengers find a cheaper fare on the same route it will pay double the difference between the two fares.

Ryanair chief executive Michael O'Leary said: "No airline in Europe beats Ryanair's fares or our passenger service. Ryanair already delivers Europe's best punctuality, the fewest lost bags and a no fuel surcharge guarantee.
