New flights from Aberdeen Airport

New flights from Aberdeen AirportFans of travelling who live close to Aberdeen Airport may welcome the news that additional services will be added to the travel hub.

New flights are being added to Aberdeen Airport's schedule by airline operator and travel agent Thomas Cook and will include designations in Turkey and Spain.

Among the new routes are Antalya, Dalaman, Reus, Majorca, Ibiza and Palma.

UK airport snow and travel updateFlights departing from Manchester Airport and Liverpool Airport in the north-west were cancelled this morning (January 5th) and heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures have been causing travel chaos for many travellers in the UK.

Further blankets of snow are expected to cover central and southern England as well as south-eastern areas of Wales over the next 24 hours.

"Bitterly cold and wintry weather is forecast to continue for the next couple of weeks with further snowfall expected at times," the Met Office has reported.

The airports are advising people who are not able to reschedule their flights to enquire with the government's ATOL protection scheme to see if they are covered.

Amanda McMillan, managing director at Glasgow Airport, said they would be doing everything they could to assist holidaymakers.

Passengers can 'earn miles' at UK airportsBAA has launched a new agreement with Lufthansa, which allows passengers to earn air miles when they shop at BAA airports.

John Holland-Kaye, commercial director at BAA, said that it is the first airline loyalty programme that lets passengers gain miles through shopping.

"We're delighted to be a part of this great new way of rewarding passengers travelling through our airports," he added.

New route launched from Aberdeen AirportPassengers traveling from Aberdeen Airport now have even more choice after a brand new route was launched.

The Danish airline Cimber Sterling has announced that it will be flying from Aberdeen to the Danish destination Billund.

Kevin Brown, managing director at Aberdeen Airport, said he was delighted with the "welcome new route".
