New Liverpool-Innsbruck route launched
EasyJet has launched its new route from Liverpool Airport to Innsbruck in Austria. The inaugural flight on the route took off on January 8th, benefiting local travellers by boosting the number of destinations available to them, easyJet claimed.
This winter alone, the airline expects to carry some 10,000 passengers on its Liverpool-Innsbruck service.
David Osborne, easyJet's UK general commercial manager, said that the carrier has seen a "huge increase" in flights to ski and summer destinations this year.
A popular skiing location, Innsbruck is the capital of Austria's Tyrol region and, according to easyJet, is one of the most popular, up-and-coming low-fare destinations for 2008.
Liverpool Airport offers flights operated by a number of carriers to destinations across Europe, including Lisbon, Rome, Bucharest and Stockholm.
