Durham Tees Valley boosts Spanish services

Durham Tees Valley boosts Spanish servicesDurham Tees Valley Airport has celebrated a boost to its Spanish services, with new flights to Alicante launched by Ryanair.

The carrier announced that the new connection will launch on March 4th next year and operate three times a week.

An additional 40,000 passengers are expected to pass through Durham Tees Valley Airport every year as a result of the link, bringing Ryanair's total annual passenger figure at the hub to 150,000.

Hugh Lang, managing director of the airport, said that the new flights were a welcome boost to existing Ryanair services to Spain and other destinations.

"We are delighted to confirm the continued development of a successful partnership with the introduction of this new route with Ryanair," he said.

"The new route brings more choice for flights to the Costa Blanca region and adds to the existing services to Dublin and Barcelona (Girona)."

Durham Tees Valley Airport passengers also have access to holiday hotspots including Faro in Portugal, Tenerife and Lanzarote.
