Stockholm route to be restored for Bristol passengers
Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) has confirmed that it is to reinstate its route between Bristol Airport and Stockholm next year. The carrier said that the connection proved "highly popular" with passengers from the south-west when it was offered during summer 2007.
Next year's service will be operated twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, with services flying to Stockholm's Arlanda airport.
The route will be complemented by a new direct SAS service that will launch from Bristol Airport to the Norwegian capital of Oslo in April 2008.
Tony Hallwood, aviation development director at Bristol, said: "The SAS summer service to Stockholm earlier this year proved popular with travellers across the south-west, and was also a big hit with Swedes looking to explore the region.
"Following the recent announcement of Oslo as a new destination, we are pleased that Stockholm will once again be served by Scandinavia's premier airline in 2008."
