New Spain services launched from Birmingham

New Spain services launched from BirminghamBirmingham Airport hosted the launch of new services to Madrid, the capital of Spain, on December 7th.

Bmibaby, which claims to be the largest carrier based in the Midlands, launched the services and said that it is the only airline to fly to Madrid from the West Midlands.

Four services a week will be available from Birmingham Airport, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, throughout winter 2007-08.

In summer 2008 bmibaby will expand the service to offer six flights a week and will also operate connections to Krakow in Poland and Milan in Italy.

David Hodge, the airline's commercial director, said: "We are delighted to launch another new route from Birmingham international airport today.

"Bmibaby will offer up to six flights a week to Madrid, a fantastic city ideal for both leisure and business passengers."

Other destinations available from Birmingham Airport include Aberdeen, Lisbon, Geneva, Prague and Rome.
