New Israel flights to launch from Heathrow
British airline bmi has announced that it will boost its network from Heathrow Airport next year, with new flights to the city of Tel Aviv in Israel. The new service, which will offer 20 seats in business class and 108 in economy, will commence on a non-stop daily basis on March 13th.
Bmi claimed that the route will be coordinated to ensure that passengers can access convenient connections to regional hubs across the UK, including Manchester Airport, Durham Tees Valley, Belfast and Leeds/Bradford Airport.
Airline chief executive Nigel Turner said: "The launch of our Heathrow to Tel Aviv route is tremendous news as it allows us to serve next year a market we had identified as having potential for greater competition and one that fits ideally into our mid haul expansion strategy from Heathrow.
"We have every confidence that our presence on this new route will stimulate its competitiveness."
Mr Turner said that Tel Aviv is an enhancement of bmi's "ever-growing" network in the Middle East, which he described as "an area of economic growth and development".
