New daily route to Cologne from EMA
Nottingham/East Midlands Airport (EMA) passengers will have access to a new daily route to the German city of Cologne next year.Bmi regional announced that it will begin operating the route from the East Midlands to Cologne from February 11th.
Direct services will leave Nottingham six times a week, replacing the route that used to be served by low-cost carrier easyJet.
Caroline Plant, marketing director at Nottingham EMA, said: "We are delighted that bmi regional has chosen to start their Cologne route from East Midlands in February.
"This is an important destination for the business traveller in the region and I am sure that it will also be a very popular destination for the leisure traveller alike."
Bmi regional is a member of the Star Alliance and will therefore offer its passengers connecting flights to other German cities, including Hamburg, with fellow coalition member Lufthansa.
Cologne is one of the oldest cities in Germany and hosts Europe's largest comedy festival.
