Nottingham/East Midlands Airport (EMA) has celebrated the fact that a recent award win completes a 'fantastic five' accomplishments for the hub this year. At the recent British Travel Awards, EMA was handed the 'airport of the year' accolade which, among other things, recognised the efficiency with which it moves passengers through its terminal.
In January this year Nottingham was named the best regional airport at the Travel Weekly Globe Awards and took the World Travel Award for the leading eco-friendly airport.
The base also took the best UK regional hub accolade at the Travel Bulletin 2007 Star Awards and was honoured as the best airport at the Baltic Air Charter Association Awards 2007.
Nottingham/East Midlands Airport manager Penny Coates said: "2007 has been an incredible year for EMA, winning 'best UK airport' this week is an amazing example of how well we are perceived by our peers in the travel industry.
"We are very proud of the titles we have been awarded this year, which recognise the hard work and dedication of our great team."
