Upgraded lounge at Gatwick Airport

Upgraded lounge at Gatwick AirportA newly refurbished Aviance airport lounge has been opened at Gatwick, offering passengers a number of new features and amenities.

The new executive lounge is located at the north terminal of Gatwick Airport and covers an area of 4,000 square feet, making it twice the size of the previous facility.

BAA Gatwick said the lounge could be used as an "alternative relaxation area" or somewhere to get some work done before boarding a flight.

There is access to computer workstations for 130 people in the facility - with Wi-Fi connections available for an additional charge - as well as new ceilings, lighting, toilets and furniture.

Arthur Dodgson, chief executive of Go-Ahead, the group that owns lounge operator Aviance, described the new passenger area as "a world class facility for a world class airport".

Gatwick head of property Emma Rees said: "We're absolutely delighted Aviance has developed such a great facility for passengers travelling through the north terminal.

"It's a great addition to what's already on offer and provides passengers with real choice, whether they wish to enjoy the wide range of shops and restaurants available in the main departure lounge, or simply unwind before they board their aircraft."
