New hotel for Aberdeen Airport
A new flagship luxury hotel has been unveiled for Aberdeen Airport.The £15 million, 180-bedroom establishment will be sited on Argyll Road, within walking distance of the airport's main passenger terminal.
As well as regular rooms for people travelling to and from the Scottish hub the new Marriott hotel is also set to have a conference room for meetings and social functions as well as a terraced outdoor restaurant.
The new building will be the first Courtyard hotel by Marriott in Scotland and the second in the UK, with one establishment currently under development at Gatwick Airport.
Ed Fuller, president and managing director of international lodging at Marriott, said: "We believe this product has terrific potential in Aberdeen."
He went on to claim that the development would offer a benefit to the local area and said that "it will be welcomed by the greater Aberdeen area".
Aberdeen Airport is BAA Scotland's fastest growing air hub, with more than three million passengers every year and flights to some 35 destinations.
