More Stansted Express services in 2008

People flying to and from Stansted Airport next year will be offered more transport services to Liverpool Street station with Stansted Express.

The company is adding a total of 13 extra services in a new timetable that will begin on January 2nd, Travelmole reports.

There will now be a daily service travelling from Stansted to Liverpool Street at 00:30 GMT, as well as additional departures from Stansted at 01:00 and 01:30 on Monday, Friday and Saturday mornings.

These and other changes are reportedly designed to ensure that passengers with arrivals and departures early in the morning or late at night have the option to travel seven days a week.

Nicola Hooper, head of airline relationships and transport for Stansted Airport, said: "We are proud of our record in encouraging passengers to use alternatives to their car to get to and from the airport.

"Around 40 per cent use public transport, which is the highest figure for a major airport in the UK and one of the highest in Europe."
