Stansted hosts new service to Munich

Stansted hosts new service to MunichStansted Airport hosted the launch of a new service to Munich on November 5th, provided by short-haul carrier Air Berlin.

The Munich flight is the eighth direct connection provided by Air Berlin between Stansted and Germany.

Flights are also available from the London hub to Berlin, Dusseldorf, Hanover, Nuremberg and Leipzig among others.

Nick Barton, business development director at Stansted Airport, said: "Air Berlin is firmly established as one of the market leaders in the low-fare airline industry and we're delighted to see them extend their connections into Germany.

"Munich is an extremely popular leisure destination and also a key link for business passengers."

Titus Johnson, Air Berlin's country manager for UK and Ireland, claimed that passengers using the Stansted to Munich service will be able to connect to the carrier's broader route network, offering destinations in Spain, Portugal, north Africa and others.

The carrier operates a total of 350 daily flights to more than 90 international airports.
