Fiddler on the Roof extends run

Fiddler on the Roof extends runClassic musical Fiddler on the Roof has had its booking period extended a further three months.

The curtain is now scheduled to fall for the final time at the Savoy Theatre on April 26th next year, according to the London Theatre Guide.

Fiddler on the Roof has been entertaining audiences at the Savoy since May 29th this year, when it was warmly received by critics, with the Times describing it as a "fine revival".

The story takes place in Tsarist Russia in 1905 and centres on the character of Tevye, a father of five daughters.

A traditional man, Tevye struggles to ensure that his daughters marry the right husband, often fighting against the will of the girls themselves, while also coping with a ruling from the Tsar that could lead to the abolition of his village.

The West End production of the show stars Henry Goodman as Tevye, alongside Beverley Klein, Julie Legrand and Victor McGuire.
