SAS to link Bristol to Oslo
Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) is to provide a link from Bristol Airport to the Norwegian capital of Oslo. The airline will launch the three-times-weekly return service on April 1st next year.
Earlier this year SAS commenced a seasonal summer service from Bristol Airport to Stockholm and the success of this route will lead to it being operated again in summer 2008.
Lars-Ove Filipson, UK and Ireland general manager for SAS, said that the Oslo route builds on the strong performance of the Stockholm service.
Tony Hallwood, Bristol's aviation development director, said: "Following the success of their Bristol to Stockholm service this summer, SAS clearly see the huge potential of the south-west market as a leisure destination for Scandinavians.
"The region proved to be a big hit with visiting Swedes and the new flight between Bristol International and Oslo will now open up the south-west to Norwegian business and leisure travellers."
Oslo will be the 17th capital city served by a direct flight from Bristol Airport.
