EMA launches new service to Pakistan
Nottingham/East Midlands Airport will be entertaining its visitors with music today to mark the launch of a new flight to Pakistan.UK International Airlines (UKIA) will be offering the service from October 19th and there will be a variety of types of music played into the airport's check-in hall to see off passengers on the inaugural flight.
The use of music is hoped to create a "vibrant and lively" atmosphere for travellers as well as for friends and family bidding farewell to the holidaymakers.
UKIA's service will operate on a twice-weekly basis to Islamabad via Sharjah, near Dubai.
Penny Coates, managing director of Nottingham/East Midlands Airport, said: "This announcement is a fantastic endorsement of our first-class facilities here at the airport and is a real coup for everyone involved in developing this link to a new country.
"The service has generated positive interest so far and we are sure the people of the East Midlands region and beyond will make good use of this route."
Mir Zaman, managing director of UKIA, said that the airline was "delighted" to be launching the new service, which is expected to be used by a diverse range of customers from all over the country.
