New Poland services to launch from Cardiff, EMA

New Poland services to launch from Cardiff, EMACardiff Airport and Nottingham/East Midlands Airport (EMA) passengers will have access to new services to Poland next year with low-fares airline bmibaby.

The carrier said that it will begin flights to the port town of Gdansk from February 9th, departing East Midlands three times a week and taking off from Cardiff twice a week.

EMA will be the base for four weekly bmibaby flights to Warsaw from February 20th, while the connection between Cardiff and the Polish capital will be operated three times every seven days.

The new services are indicative of bmibaby's "commitment to growth", according to the airline's managing director Crawford Rix.

He added: "The UK Polish community is a modern day phenomenon and the new routes from East Midlands and Cardiff will provide valuable links for friends and family in Poland and in the Midlands and Wales region.

"Both cities will also be really popular as short break destinations."

Mr Rix described Warsaw as "Poland's most cosmopolitan city" and claimed that Gdansk is considered "one of the most beautiful cities on the Baltic coast".
