EMA wins regional award
Nottingham/East Midlands Airport (EMA) was named the best UK regional airport at the Travel Bulletin 2007 Star Awards. The hub had to overcome stiff competition from bases including Birmingham Airport and Manchester Airport to take the accolade.
Reportedly one of the most prestigious events in the industry's calendar, the Star Awards is designed to mark the achievements of the travel market and uses votes from trade professionals to decide the winners.
Penny Coates, managing director of EMA, said the award was a result of the hard work put in by the people that keep the airport running.
"This news is very pleasing for the whole team at EMA who work incredibly hard to ensure the very best levels of customer service," she said.
"The award shows the confidence, trust and respect our colleagues in the travel industry have for the airport and we are delighted that this has been recognised in a very competitive marketplace."
Earlier this year Nottingham/East Midlands Airport won the award for the top regional hub at the Travel Weekly Globe Awards.
