Stansted opens Romania link
Stansted Airport hosted a flight from Romania's leading low-cost airline, Blue Air, on October 8th, marking the beginning of a new link between the hub and the country's capital city Bucharest.Nick Barton, business development and planning director at Stansted, said that advance bookings indicate the route will be "very popular" with both business and leisure travellers.
The new connection is the first of a number of new route launches that are planned at Stansted for October.
Mr Barton explained: "This is just the first of six new links to join our growing network this month as Ryanair prepares to start services to Billund, Denmark and a new connection to Belfast City; easyJet will launch flights to Funchal, Madeira and Eastern Airways commences flights to Manchester."
One big arrival that is due at Stansted this month is that of American Airlines, the world's biggest carrier.
The operator will commence daily flights to New York JFK airport on October 29th, offering 220 seats.
