Avenue Q run extended

Avenue Q run extendedPopular comedy musical Avenue Q has had its run extended and will now entertain West End crowds until September 2008.

The wacky show, which features a combined cast of humans and puppets, premiered at the Noel Coward Theatre on June 28th 2006 to rapturous reviews.

Its main character is Princeton, a college graduate who moves into the titular avenue and makes a strange group of friends, who take him on a bizarre journey of self discovery.

It has been described as "the funniest show in town" by Sky News and "riotous" by the New Statesman.

Avenue Q was written by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx and had its US debut in 2002 before being transferred to the Golden Theatre on Broadway in 2003.

Its introduction to UK audiences in 2006 marked the re-opening of the Noel Coward Theatre, formerly the Albery Theatre, on St Martins Lane.
