New link between Manchester, Stansted
Travellers will be provided with a revamped air link between Manchester Airport and Stansted this autumn.UK regional airline Eastern Airways will take over the route from Air Berlin on October 29th and offer passengers extra flights and 'business-led' timings.
Three flights will depart from Manchester for Stansted Airport every day, with one service leaving at 07:15 for commuters.
It will not only be business customers who benefit from the new link, according to Eastern Airways, with leisure travellers heading from the north-west to Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire and Suffolk also expected to use the route.
Aidan Mooney, head of air service development at Manchester Airport, said: "We're delighted to welcome back Eastern Airways onto the Stansted route.
"Connecting the north-west to the rest of Britain and the world is why Manchester Airport is so important to the region's development and this route is an important element in our network."
Eastern Airways served the Manchester-Stansted route for three years before Air Berlin took the service over in 2006. It also flies to Inverness twice every weekday from the northern base.
