Dublin Airport sees 9% passenger boost
Dublin Airport saw a nine per cent year-on-year increase in passenger numbers in August, it has been revealed.A total of 2.4 million passengers passed through the hub last month, the Dublin Airport Authority revealed.
This means that, on average, over 77,000 passengers used the airport every day in the month of August.
One of the most notable increases occurred in the continental Europe market, with over 1.3 million passengers coming from the region - an 18 per cent rise.
Some 85,000 customers used domestic routes to and from Dublin Airport, while North American traffic climbed five per cent to reach 174,000.
The first eight months of 2007 saw over 15.7 million people travel through Ireland's busiest airport, ten per cent more than the same period in 2006.
Dublin hosts over 90 airlines flying to more than 150 destinations around the world and manages more than 600 aircraft movements every day.
