Office troubles send workers packing to the beaches
Work stress and burdensome workloads are key factors incentivising UK employees to book holidays abroad, according to a survey performed via Facebook by travel website provider Click with Technology.Four in ten people cited the pressure of too much work or anxiety surrounding their jobs as contributing factors to their decision to take a break, the study of 1,000 people conducted via the social networking site revealed.
At the same time, the impact of a summer of unprecedented poor weather for the UK was clearly in evidence, with one-fifth of respondents blaming the British weather for their decision to flee the shores of this sceptred isle.
Nevertheless, more pragmatic considerations helped 17 per cent of people take the plunge and reserve flights and accommodation, telling Facebook the ease of online booking encouraged them to book their break.
The online social networking site currently hosts over 60 applications in its travel category, linking users up to sites of varying utility where they can learn about destinations, book travel, and recommend locations to friends.
