Virgin highlights popularity of Premium Economy Class

Virgin highlights popularity of Premium Economy ClassVirgin has said that its Premium Economy Class continues to grow in the popularity stakes and the range of people taking advantage of the service is mixed.

Launched back in 1992 as Mid Class, it was re-branded as Premium Economy two years later and can be purchased on Virgin's long-haul flights from airports such as Heathrow and Gatwick.

After stints in hotel lounges, Premium Economy Class could prove to be the perfect way to spend those hours in the air as Virgin offer the customer increased room to manoeuvre and a wider leather seat.

On top of this, more time can be spent relaxing in airport lounges as a spokesperson explained that people enjoy "the service that accompanies [Premium Economy Class], like priority check in and priority luggage handling along with aspects like separate meal choices."

The Virgin spokesperson went on to state: "Economy class will always be the most popular class for travel and we will continue to enhance our products and services in economy to ensure this market is catered for.

From its main bases situated at London Heathrow and London Gatwick, Virgin operates long-haul flights from the UK to a raft of places across the world in North America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia.
