Orlando rumoured to make West End bow

Orlando rumoured to make West End bowHollywood heartthrob Orlando Bloom is rumoured to be set to make his West End debut in a new version of David Storey's 1969 drama In Celebration.

The Lord of the Rings star has enjoyed great success in recent years and won global acclaim for his roles in Pirates of the Caribbean and Kingdom of Heaven.

But it was his performance as Legolas in Peter Jackson's fantasy epic that launched his career and he is now tipped to sell many West End theatre tickets in the forthcoming stage revival.

In Celebration follows the unhappy lives of three brothers, who visit their parents in Yorkshire for their wedding anniversary.

The original production took place at London's Royal Court theatre, although it is rumoured that the new play will be staged at the West End's Trafalgar Studios.

Variety magazine revealed that Anna Mackmin is to direct the play, while Sonia Friedman is set to produce it.

Screen star Bloom recently revealed he is having so much trouble finding love he has resorted to setting up a profile on popular online network site Facebook under a phoney guise.

"It's difficult sometimes to know whether girls like me, or the guy they see in Pirates of the Caribbean," he told Female First. "This way I can get to know them from behind a disguise."
