Business travellers free from flying fear

Business travellers free from flying fearBusiness travellers in the UK have responded to increased terrorism and security fears by insisting they feel as safe travelling now as they did ten years ago.

In a survey conducted by Barclaycard Business 67 per cent of respondents said they feel as safe now as they did a decade ago, while an overwhelming 96 per cent revealed they felt 'safe' travelling.

Of the 4,000 UK business people quizzed, just one per cent said they didn't feel safe travelling and just three per cent of those people believed terrorism was their main concern.

Denise Leleux, director of commercial cards at Barclaycard Business, said business travellers had become more aware of their own safety in recent years and realised the importance of being vigilant and responsible at airports.

"It is reassuring to the travel industry that the vast majority of business travellers feel safe while on business travel.

"It is clear that steps taken in recent years such as increased security checks at airports, higher safety standards on trains and a shift in attitudes towards safer driving have all helped make the business traveller feel more secure whilst on the move."
