Passenger comfort the key for new Boeing 787

Passenger comfort the key for new Boeing 787Boeing is set to launch its new 787 Dreamliner next year with enhanced passenger comfort and accessibility cited as key to its success.

Comfort is one of the most important aspects of any good trip and you can book here at BookFHR.com for fantastic deals on some of the UK's most comfortable hotels.

In partnership with Oregon State University, Boeing engineers and interior designers have used simulated environments and consulted people with disabilities to verify improvements.

The lavatories on board the aircraft have been fitted with a host of enhanced features, such as improved door handles for those with limited hand agility and "touchless" faucets, toilet flushing and waste flaps.

Mike Bair, vice president and general manager of the 787 program, said: "We analysed accessibility issues passengers face on today's airplanes and incorporated advancements to better accommodate passengers of all ages and capabilities.

"These advancements, coupled with the Dreamliner's larger windows, bigger carry-on bins, lower cabin altitude and cleaner air, will ensure that everyone enjoys a better flying experience on the 787."

Boeing's new aircraft is set to go into direct competition with Airbus's new A380 superjumbo, which made two simultaneous maiden voyages to the US last Monday.
