Emirates to fly from Newcastle
Newcastle Airport is to gets its first long-haul destination in September, with Emirates Airline announcing the introduction of its new service linking Newcastle to Dubai.With Dubai's popularity as a destination for both business and leisure travellers continuing to grow, the Emirates service will provide 251 economy class seats and 27 business class seats of a modern Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
This latest development makes Newcastle Airport the airline's sixth UK destination and confirms its status as one of the fastest growing operators in the world, currently serving 88 cities across 59 countries worldwide.
To coincide with the news, Emirates is offering special promotional fares for flights to Dubai, Delhi and the Chinese cities of Shanghai and Beijing.
Commenting on the special fares, the airline's vice president for UK and Ireland, Vic Sheppard, said: "They demonstrate the terrific range of destinations available to the north-east through Emirates' comprehensive and easy connections beyond our home base of Dubai."
The new long-haul route comes soon after the airport announced forthcoming services to Copenhagen, Galway and Limoges in France.
