Watch out for unofficial car parks
Look out for airport parking scams, passengers have this week been warned.
After recent media coverage of an unlicensed car parking operator at Gatwick Airport, advice has been given on how not to fall into the traps provided by some unscrupulous unofficial operators.
Some customers had reportedly returned to their cars after trips abroad to find them with higher mileages, while others were even fined for offences committed using their cars while they were away.
Gatwick Airport Ltd said in a statement that it "continues to work with the local authorities around the airport to encourage the prompt closure of any unauthorised car parks."
Booking a parking slot through a reputable, recognised company is a much better way to go and will keep your mind at rest.
