Luton Airport luggage trolley fee increases
Passengers have even more of an incentive to get the best deal on Luton Airport parking, as the travel hub has increased the price holidaymakers must pay for luggage trolleys. The non-refundable charge for using the trolleys at the London travel hub has increased from £1 to £2 in time for the peak summer season.
A spokesperson for Luton Airport explained that the increase in trolley fees has been imposed by Bagport, which is responsible for running the concession.
"London Luton Airport has neither asked for this increase nor will it stand to benefit from it financially," she added.
Bagport said that the changes had been made to reflect the "international market leading prices" and due to a decrease in passenger numbers in the European region.
The price for those paying for the trolley service in euros has not increased and remains at 2, which equates to £1.65 based on exchange rates today (July 5th).
Edinburgh Airport also recently saddled passengers with an extra fee, as it announced it would be charging £1 to those dropping off passengers at the Scottish travel hub.
