Joseph to get Maria Treatment
Following on from the hugely successful "how do you solve a problem like Maria" Andrew Lloyd Webber is reported to have agreed to a new reality television show, looking for people to cast in his new production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat".
It is hoped that the new show which is to be broadcast on BBC1, will prove to be as popular as the original 2006 "Maria" series in which the unknown Connie Fisher landed the role, to play the lead part in The Sound of Music, now playing at the London Palladium.
This new series of shows, which is believed to be called "Any Dream Will Do" is to be hosted by Graham Norton, but will be a little more ambitious than the previous show, as it will not only attempt to find a lead, but also a narrator, a Pharaoh and a school choir.
During the passage of the shows, each contestant will be judged by an expert panel including Lloyd Webber, who will pass critique on the talents of the budding West End hopefuls. Ultimately, it will be the general public who will decide on who will land the parts by means of a phone in.
No official schedule for the airing of the program has been announced, or for when this new theatre production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" will open.
