Premier Inn developer building hotel at East Midlands Airport
A new hotel is being built at East Midland's Airport by the same company responsible for the Premier Inn and Travelodge developments at other facilities.The airport hotel, which is being constructed by MAG Developments, is due to be opened in around 18 months and will contain 216 bedrooms, eight executive suites, a full service restaurant and bar, extensive conferencing facilities and a swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms.
In addition, it will be built to low carbon standards with the aim of reducing CO2 emissions.
East Midlands Airport managing director Penny Coates said: "East Midlands Airport is already connecting millions of passengers to more than 100 destinations ... The new hotel will boost the on-site offering and ensure the airport has the facilities in place to continue its development."
MAG Developments currently has 1,500 beds at four UK travel hubs, including Manchester Airport, East Midlands Airport, Bournemouth Airport and Humberside Airport.
Hotels currently available at East Midlands Airport include the Thistle, Express by Holiday Inn and the Hilton.
