Passengers warned of delays at Paris airports

Passengers warned of delays at Paris airportsPassengers are being warned that they may experience serious delays or cancellations at Paris airports.

Strikes by French air traffic controllers mean that 50 per cent of flights have been cancelled at Paris Orly Airport and between 15 and 25 per cent of services at Charles de Gaulle have not been operating.

This could affect holiday makers who have purchased airport parking or reserved airport hotels at UK facilities, such as Gatwick Airport and Heathrow Airport.

Thursday February 25th marks the third day of a four-day strike which has led to problems for a number of airlines, including easyJet, KLM and Air France.

The latter said that it is operating all long-haul flights from the capital, however it has reduced the number of services within Europe.

Travellers concerned about their flights to Paris can check live departure information on the airports' websites.

Figures from BAA released recently show that passenger numbers at its airports were down in January, due to the adverse weather conditions experienced across the UK.
