Christmas flight passengers should 'leave extra time for journeys'
Stansted Airport has advised passengers to leave extra time for journeys to the travel hub over the Christmas period.This is not only because of the wintry weather and heavy snowfalls that are disrupting many travel services, but also because of reduced public transport.
An airport spokesperson revealed that London Liverpool Street station will be closed on December 26th, 27th and 28th.
On these days, all rail services to and from the airport will begin and end at Tottenham Hale.
In addition, the Stansted Express is running a limited service over the Christmas period.
Passengers who are struggling to make their way to Stansted Airport because of the bad weather or reduced services may want to stay in an airport hotel the night before their flight.
Heavy snowfalls across much of the UK has caused severe delays on roads and caused disruptions and delays.
The weather is set to continue and the Met Office has warned of more snow to follow in the coming days.
