Belfast International Airport opens second phase of construction
Passengers travelling through Belfast International Airport will now be greeted by a new glass-fronted building at the terminal. This is thanks to the completion of the second phase of the travel hub's £10 million redevelopment.
John Doran, chief executive at Belfast International Airport, said the scale of the investment meant that the hub would be able to cater for all of the region's air traffic for future decades.
In the last five years more than £50 million has been invested into the airport.
"As the second largest airport on the island of Ireland it provides vital support to our 24-hour economy with virtually unlimited runway capacity," he added.
More than five million passengers use Belfast International Airport each year.
Passengers using the travel hub this festive period will not only be able to benefit from the new glass panelling, but also from carol singers who are planning to take part in a Big Christmas Sing.
It may be a good idea to book airport car parking early at Belfast International Airport this year, as the hub will be busy over Christmas
