Bristol International Airport announces early start to winter flights
Passengers travelling from Bristol International Airport this winter will have an early start to the sports season this year. The first chartered ski flight is due to take-off two weeks earlier than usual - it is scheduled for December 6th.
Shaun Browne, aviation director at Bristol International Airport, said this would make Europe's slopes more accessible than ever.
He added that ski holidays had always been popular with the south-west and the Welsh travel market.
"Operators and ski resorts have responded to the recession with a raft of money saving offers on everything from lift passes to boot hire," Mr Browne remarked.
Airlines operating winter flights from Bristol International Airport include easyJet, Ski Esprit, Ryanair and Snowjet.
The specialist ski operator Inghams has announced that it will be offering flights with a weekly departure to Kittila in Finland.
Earlier this week, Glasgow Airport announced that it would be closing its Terminal 2 over part of the winter season in order to cut costs.
