New flights from Birmingham Airport launched
Passengers traveling from Birmingham Airport will have more choice next year, thanks to the launch of new flights due to start next year.The new flights with Monarch Airlines travel from the Midland's hub and will run between May and October 2010.
Launched by MSC Cruises, the flights will take passengers from Birmingham to Palma de Mallorca in Spain where they can get onto a cruise and begin their holiday.
Giulio Libutti, managing director of MSC Cruises UK and Ireland, said the flights would open up the cruise trips to a wider audience.
The cruises travel through Europe to Toulon in France, Genoa, Portofini and Salerno in Italy, Ajaccio in Corsica and Tunis in Tunisia.
Last month, Birmingham Airport celebrated the new £50 million development by greeting the Duke of Kent, who officially opened The Pier.
The new facility is expected to give passengers much better customer service and a more enjoyable airport trip the previous terminal layout.
