Life is a Cabaret with Bookfhr
Rufus Norris' new production of the deliciously decadent Cabaret, returns to the West End later this year.
Set in Berlin prior to the start of World War II, Cabaret delves into a dark and sexually charged haven of extraordinary and morally ambiguous charachers who are determined to keep up appearances and lifestyles, as the real world (the world outside the comfortable sanctuary of the Kit Kat Club) prepares for the nightmarish chaos of war.
Cabaret opens at the Lyric Theatre on the 10th of October 2006, following previews starting on the 22nd September. It will see BAFTA winning actress Anna Maxwell Martin take on the role of singer Sally Bowles, Sheila Hancock will play Fraulein Schneder and James Dreyfus will feature as the infamous Kits Kat Club's Emcee.
The Bristish trio will be joined on stage by American actor Michael Hayden who will appear as Clifford Bradshaw, a role he should be familiar with as having already played the part on Broadway.
