Manchester Airport to gain Copenhagen route

Manchester Airport to gain Copenhagen routeLow-cost airline easyJet has launched a new route from Manchester Airport to Copenhagen.

The new flight schedule will see easyJet more than doubling its number of services leaving the Danish capital, after already expanding its route network from the country to include Milan and London Gatwick.

This is in addition to the two existing routes it offered to Berlin and London Stansted.

From November, an additional daily schedule will be added to Berlin, the airline stated.

Carsten Norland, vice-president of aviation for Copenhagen Airports, said: "easyJet has significantly increased its presence at Copenhagen Airport in the past year, thereby intensifying competition on a number of routes. This will benefit passengers and we are naturally very pleased about that."

Manchester Airport also earlier benefited from two new routes with bmibaby to Amsterdam and Toulouse.

Crawford Rix, managing director of bmibaby, said the airline was already seeing strong bookings to the two destinations.
