Spanish airline announces plans to move all UK flights to Heathrow

Spanish airline announces plans to move all UK flights to HeathrowClickair has announced plans to fly all of its UK routes from Heathrow.

Passengers travelling from Britain's biggest airport may want to book online car parking at the airport before they travel to beat the queues.

Clickair, one of Spain's largest budget airlines, expects that more than 400,000 passengers will be using its service each year.

This will be an increase of 94,000 compared to 2008's figures.

It hopes that by moving flights from Gatwick to Heathrow, it will make the routes more appealing to travellers because of the centralisation of the airport.

Heathrow is a hub for connecting flights to all around the world.

Currently in negotiations over a merger with the airline company Vueling, Clickair flies to 45 destinations and has transported more than 12 million people since it was established in 2006.

Last year, Heathrow Airport opened Terminal 5, which was one of the first stages of a major development plan to rejuvenate the airport in time for the 2012 Olympic Games.
