Holidaymakers travelling from Gatwick Airport this Bank Holiday weekend may want to book parking online in advance to avoid the crowds.Around 325,000 people will be travelling from the London airport between May 1st and May 4th, according to Gatwick Airport.
The most popular destination for passengers is Malaga, closely followed by people heading to Ireland and flying into Dublin Airport.
Other top ten destinations include Edinburgh, Madrid, Alicante, Faro, Palma and Tenerife.
The airport reminded passengers that restrictions for liquids over 100ml were still in place, and advised passengers to check with individual airlines about baggage restrictions.
Gatwick is the UK's second busiest airport with 34.2 million passengers travelling through it each year.
This is 12 million more than Stansted Airport, and half the amount of people that fly from Heathrow each year.
Bidding to buy Gatwick Airport closed yesterday. BAA was forced to put the airport on the market, after a report from the Competition Commission inquiry.
