McKellen and Stewart take to the stage to wait for Godot
London's wait for Godot is almost over as an acclaimed production of Samuel Beckett's famous play comes to the capital.Directed by Sean Mathias, the adaption of the 20th century's classic play Waiting For Godot is showing at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from April 30th to July 26th.
Pairing the two celebrated actors Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart as the lead characters, the performance is certain to impress theatre lovers as the award-winning actors take on the role of two tramps.
Both actors have appeared together before on screen and on stage in Shakespeare plays and in the X-Men trilogy, and they now take on the roles of Estragon and Vladimir.
Stewart, who famously played Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek, has extensive stage experience and has won three Olivier awards.
Best known for playing the role of Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings films, McKellen has more than 30 years of experience on the stage and has won two Olivier awards.
Simon Callow will play the part of Pozzo and Ronald Pickup appears as Lucky in the play that Beckett called "a tragicomedy in two acts".
