September 2005- Record-breaking month for Glasgow Airport
New figures published this week show that last month was the busiest September ever for Glasgow Airport. With almost one million passengers flying in and out of Glasgow in September, the airport has maintained its position as Scotland's busiest airport.
So far this year only the peak travel month of July has seen higher figures which topped one million. Year to date, Glasgow has served nearly half a million more passengers than Edinburgh Airport, earning it the title of Scotland's favourite airport
The increase in passengers numbers can be partially attributed to the global rise in international traffic which is reflected in the rise in long-haul destinations available from Glasgow. European destinations have also continued to experience growth
