Caribbean flights from Gatwick Airport
British Airways (BA) has announced it will begin flying to the Caribbean island of St Kitts from Gatwick Airport. Flights between Gatwick Airport and St Kitts Robert L Bradshaw International Airport will begin on January 10th 2009.
The flagship airline confirmed it will operate weekly services to the holiday destination, which is its latest route to the Caribbean from the UK.
Adam Daniels, BA head of leisure sales, said: "This new route to St. Kitts underlines our commitment both to the Caribbean and Gatwick and re-establishes a connection between the UK and the island.
"The introduction of St Kitts as a British Airways route means that we now operate to 11 destinations in the Caribbean.
"The region is performing extremely well for us. Our customers also tell us that they feel secure flying with an airline with an established heritage and longevity in the market in these turbulent times."
St Kitts and Nevis are part of the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean Ocean, forming the smallest nation in the region in terms of size and population.
