Strike grounds Ryanair flights
A number of Ryanair flights from Birmingham Airport have been cancelled due to strike action, it has been reported. The budget Irish carrier has been forced to cancel 25 flights due to strikes by Boeing employees, which will delay the delivery of its new aircraft.
Between October 24th and the 28th the flights, across 21 routes, will not fly to such destinations as Bologna, Oslo and Prague.
Ryanair's Michael Cawley said of the announcement: "We sincerely regret the forced cancellation of these 25 return services to/from Birmingham.
"However, we assure passengers that this is a temporary disruption to our schedule and we have secured an aircraft to operate all scheduled services from 29th October. We sincerely apologise to all our passengers for the inconvenience caused by this change to our plans."
The strike action began on September 6th after negotiations broke down between the company and the workers' union.
Passengers who were due to travel on these cancelled services will receive a full refund.

Intesting to note Ryanair are still taking online bookings from Birmingham.
And what are the chances my flight to Dublin on Wednesday 29th will not depart?
