New routes from Luton Airport
Wizz Air has announced a new route from Luton Airport to Romania as part of a Europe-wide expansion initiative. The low-cost Polish carrier will begin operating a service from Timisoara to Luton Airport from October 27th, with three flights per week.
There will also be an increase in weekly frequency for the airline's services from Luton Airport to Cluj-Napoca and Bucharest, from four to six and from seven to ten flights per day respectively.
Wizz Air chief executive officer, Jozsef Varadi, said: "This expansion is a major step forward for us to gain and sustain market leadership in Romania.
"I am confident that the ongoing consolidation in the airline industry will yield even more opportunities for Wizz Air and on that basis we have advanced aircraft deliveries and scaled up our expansion plans in markets such as Romania."
Wizz Air recently purchased three new Airbus A320 planes, which will service some of its new routes.
